Millot's Passetoutgrain is made from 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Gamay from a single, co-planted, Flagey-Echandeacute;zeaux plot just south of the road from Clos de Vougeot. These are clay over limestone soils, and the average age of the vines is more thanandnbsp;70 years old! These old vines are meticulously farmed, and the resulting wine is flat out astounding, especially given the modest price tag.andnbsp; 2018 is a solar vintage yielding wines on the riper side of the spectrum, and we think it is a vintage perfectly suited to this AOC, which can sometimes lack the stuffing we desire from juicy Gamay.andnbsp; This is a perfect wine to pop in an ice bucket this summer to chill it down a bit.andnbsp; andnbsp;
