(Disgorged 1/19)- Always my favorite of the Lieux-Dits and without question one of the very best Blanc de Blancs Champagnes on the planet, it’s stunning tonight, rich, powerful and intense with crazy depth to its layers, unfurling in a Burgundy glass to reveal its complex core of rich orchard fruit, roasted nuts, gun smoke, old rum barrels and candied white flowers, all with seamless integration and balance. The palate is generous and detailed, with racy acids, waves of saline laced chalky Le Mesnil minerals and a finish that just keeps going. For me, the BdB benchmark.

My favorite Lieux dits stunning as always showing immense power, freshness, volume, vivid energy and seemingly infinite depth. Layer by layer it unfurls to flaunt its complex core of rich fruit, roasted nuts, gun smoke, toasty oak and waves of chalky Le Mesnil minerals. There is incredible detail, focus and an amazingly persistent saline infused finish. For me, the ultimate Blanc de Blancs

To taste this wine I believe you need to understand the mentality and passion of the producer. Tasted in a flight of great champagne this wind appeared older than it was distinct salty, nutty, dried flower, ample richness and freshness from the youthful part of the cuvée; depth and mystery from the older part of the Solera/blend. This is a phenomenal champagne but it is for the select few that have studied the brand and wish to try and oxidize style - which is only a complement to the wine in this particular version a little less pervasive then and other cuvées from this brand. Sensational at Gwen With our diverse set of appetizers....and yes I love this one with charcuterie - a specialty At Gwen (salty aged ham? Hell yes). Fall in love with the oxidative nose invest in the wine for its unique and undeniable quality
