As the label may suggest, Hofgut Falkenstein is a very traditional estate. Erich Weber specializes here in dry-tasting wines from slate vineyards in Saar. He captures the essence of tradition by embracing, as many winegrowers have, a philosophy of andldquo;making the wine in the vineyardandrdquo;, a crystallization of the concept that by farming well you need to do very little to actuallyandnbsp;make the wine. The result, as is abundantly evident here, is a direct and pure expression of noble terroir, a forward and honest representation of a sense of andldquo;placeandrdquo;. Falkenstein wines, particularly with the high quality of 2017, are bright, vibrant, and animated, but also as always with the Webers, light and easy to enjoy.

Nice and quite Apple-y. Acid is there, but not at all overwhelming. Quite balanced in general. Good full mouthfeel while still being light on its feet.
