Henri et Gilles Buisson Sous Roche Saint-Romain Pinot Noir 2015

$39.99

We are passionate about wines that exude the essence of their origin and are steeped in tradition. This is a wide-reaching notion that is best exemplified in the wines of Burgundy, arguably the most nuanced and site specific fine wine region. There is a notion that value is scarce in this region, and while the most rarified Burgundy remains out of reach for most andndash; both in terms of price and scarcity andndash; it is possible to drink impassioned wine for an affordable price. This excellent bottle is a perfect example.andnbsp; Sous Roche is a single site in St. Romain, an under-the radar village in the Cote de Beaune that sits just west ofandnbsp;Auxey-Duresses. The Buissonandnbsp;brothersand#39;andnbsp;vines are 60 years old and this particular bottling seems to have caught the special and#39;15 vintage in perfect clarity and with great balance. Thereand#39;s ample density and sap to the wine but it carries itand#39;s muscle with grace and freshness and is imminently drinkable already.andnbsp;

Intense ripe red cherry from a warm vintage... enjoyable now. Mineral backbone, with decent grip and heft. A little air opens this up. SommSelect Spring 2018, solid QPR.

Decanted for 30 minutes. This is young and shows great promise. Good now with room to inprove with age.. Smokey black cherry, tobacco, allspice, and mushroom on the palate.
