The more we open bottles from Guy Breton, the more we are confused as to why his wines are not held in the same lofty regard as producers like Foillardandnbsp;andamp; Lapierre. Perhaps some of this comes down to the winesand#39; especially four square label and lack of on-trend wax capsule. More probably comes down to the unflashy nature of the wine itself, but make no mistake, these wines are as complete as anything coming out of Beaujolais. Marylou comes from a half hectare of 45 year old vines planted just outside the Morgon appellation. This is a vibrant, joyous and just plain delicious example of Gamay. Itand#39;s a more expressive bottle than his Morgonandnbsp;or Reigneandnbsp;cuvandeacute;es at this point, with similar spice and earth but more forward andamp; juicy fruit.andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;

Muddy and cloudy in color. Hard to see my fingers through the glass. Decent tearing, medium alcohol. Funky on the nose. Not a lot of character in taste. Good acidity and tannic finish.
