Gérard Boulay Chavignol Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2016

$27.99

The Boulay family have been making wine in Sancerre since the 14th century and their wines are as classic as they come. This is their entry level bottling from vines around the village of Chavignol. The Kimmeredgian soils in the area make for a racy, mineral expression of Sauvignon Blanc that shares the brightness and finesse of the best of Chablis. Pair with oysters, lightly prepared fish and any kind of goat cheese.

Chablis like stone on the nose. Good value and should age well.

My new favorite Sancerre but at nearly $30 a bottle, it's a bit too expensive to be our house white.
