Tiago Sampaio founded this estate high in the hills of the Alto Douro in 2007 after attaining a PhD in Viticulture while studying in Oregon.andnbsp; His mission since returning to the Douro has been to bridge modern wine sensibilities with the traditions of his homeland. Renegado is drawn from an 80-year-old vineyard planted to 25 different grape varieties, both red and white, planted in the tough schist soil the Douro is known for. The grapes undergo a short maceration before fermentation in granite lagars andndash; the result is a juicy, fresh red that borders in style on a deep rosandeacute;.andnbsp; Perfect with a chill to enjoy all summer long!
