A bit riper than usual (thanks 2011 vintage) but spot on classic Sangiovese. Love this producer and wine.

Blackberry, cassis, mossy earth, mocha, oak and hints of licorice. Great structure and well-integrated tannins.

I love my nerdy and geeky wine but sometimes the classics are what is called for and always deliver! Wonderful classic Classico Riserva and of course as usual an unbelievable value at $23! #felsina #chianticlassico #2011

Oh, the joy of beautifully crafted Sangiovese. And if Balance/Line/Length are your thing you will be pretty damn happy. I’d say it’s definitely in its drinking window and see little reason for further cellaring. Paired it with sweet Italian chicken sausages and creamy mushroom polenta.
