Failla is the maiden name of Owner/winemaker Ehren Jordanand#39;s wife, and the estate was once known as Failla-Jordan. Today, Failla is bears the character of a winery in constant pursuit of knowledge and experimentation in seeking the most complex and delicious wines of California. Ehren makes no secret that his favorite grapes to work with are Rhandocirc;ne varietals such as Syrah, owing to his first vineyard job in the Rhandocirc;ne Valley, but heand#39;s always been drawn to Burgundyand#39;s grapes as well for his own palate. He has been lucky enough to source fruit from Sonomaand#39;s top vineyards for such wines, and increasingly utilizes fruit from his estate vineyard for the Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. The fermentation is carried out with native yeasts, and the Pinot Noir is allowed to go through malolactic and age in 15% new French oak. This is a brilliant entry to the Sonoma Coast style, in its radiant, soft red fruits, spice and bright acidity.

A lovely entry level from one of my favorite names in California Pinot. Round and forward, bursting with gratifying red flavor - cranberry, red currant and wild strawberry.
