This wine is a blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each Mourvedreandnbsp;andamp; Syrah from a closandnbsp;just behind the old village of Gigondas on especially rocky limestone soils. Itand#39;s raised in a combination of large Stockinger barrels (85%) and in large amphorae (15%). Thereand#39;s plenty of meat and structure to the wine, but the tannins are admirably fine.andnbsp; The soils and the vinesand#39; setting amongst an enclosed forest that protects them from extreme temperature shifts give the wine a focus and elegance that make this a striking bottle that is a notch above most Gigondasandnbsp;youand#39;ll encounter.

Lifted and elegant, has a high elevation profile with its acid but a lower elevation side with its ripeness and warmth. Carries with it rich red/black fruit, pine, roast beef, coffee grind, undertones of pastille, herbs, and rocks. There’s a layer of brett that is so beautiful, spiced, savory, working well. Reminds me of Chave brett, so alluring. There’s a kiss or reduction but generous air blew it off. Inaugural vintage for this cool site, cant wait to crack the 2015 soon.
