Bright, vibrant, pure fruit aromas. Sweet concentrated red fruits, toffee, and spice. Heavy and powerful but lacking finesse. Too ripe for my preference but still a very nice wine.

Father's day. Same as previous btl: the reason I waste my time chasing Burgundy.

This is why I waste my time with Burgundy.

Decanted, notes from 2 hrs open. Not as compelling as my last btl, but still yummy. Gamey, feral and blackfruited to start, fantastic acidity, and much more secondary with time open: wet leaf, damp earth. Lovely acidity and attenuated tannin. End of primary phase, gonna go strong for a while...

Decanted, let sit in wide-bottom decanter for 2 hrs before serving. Restored my faith in gc burgundy, and the first burg I have had in a while that really made me stop and take notice. Stunning nose with pure strawberry, a hint of coffee and toast, and more fruit following. On the palate, great body and acidity with loads of red fruit and a hint of leather and earth. Drinking beautifully now with a decant, but the secondary is starting to show, and will probably be very compelling with more age.
