The St. Jo Rouge represents the lion's share of their production and comes from five plots over granite andamp; loess in Brunieux, a lieux-dit in the hills above the village of Saint-Dandeacute;sirat.andnbsp;35-year-old vines are being progressively replanted with massale selections from old vineyards across the estate. This wine is aged 11 months in 2 andndash; 6-year-old barrels. This is always a joy to drink in its youth and one of our favorite wines to chill down a bit and indulge with a burger!andnbsp;andnbsp;

So delicious. Fatty vintage tho. Mari said it’s a bit pruny and I had to agree. So many other great things in there. Amazing with lamb chops.

Amazing concentration of brambly fruit, but this has the acidity to keep it from feeling jammy or overextracted. Black and blue fruits on the nose and palate with a compelling violet/floral element on the finish. Personaly I could would have welcomed a bit more olive/smoked meat on the this wine but that might present itself with more bottle age. There was just the hint of olive tapenade lingering in the background. This wine is drinking beautifully right now but I think would reward you with more complexity after 5-10 years of bottle age.

Very fruit forward, but enough of a backbone to balance it out.
