Nearly 3 decades later his wines are some of the most thrilling in all of the Languedoc-Roussillon, admirably transmitting the sauvage terroir of the south of France into elegant wines that are in a category of their own.andnbsp; The base Faugeres cuvee is comprised of 50% Carignan, 30% Grenache, and 20% Cinsault fermented in cement tanks with native yeast and aged for 2 years in a mix of cement and stainless steel, bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with a minimal dose of SO2.

For one of my all time favorite wines, this was a bit disappointing. What has previously smelled like garrigue and lavender, this time around smelled a bit too much of brett for my taste
