Domaine Faury Saint Joseph Syrah 2015
Lionel Faury is at the helm of the family domaine these days and works in the same classic vein as many of our favorites from the Northern Rhone. His wines have remained especially affordable given their increasingly fine quality and immense pedigree. His Saint-Joseph, made from 100% Syrah, has been a real standout for us these past few vintages and is a perfect introduction to the style of the domaine. '15 was an especially strong vintage in the Rhone and this shows all the power and balance you'd expect from such a top producer in a top year.

Gramenon may be my favorite affordable Rhône producer in Kermit's book, but Faury is a close second. And there's actually enough of it to go around. Great to see a powerful vintage kept in balance, too. Is it shitty to start a review by naming another producer?
