The appellation of Bandol, where Mourvedre is king, is not the complete unknown that it once was, thanks to star producers like Tempier, Pradeaux and Pibarnon, butandnbsp;outside these three, itand#39;s not especially well represented outside France. La Tour du Bon is a fairly small, traditionalandnbsp;domaine run by Agnandegrave;sandnbsp;Henry in the hills outside the city that overlooks the Mediterranean. This particularandnbsp;wine is made fromandnbsp;55% Mourvandegrave;dre,andnbsp;25% Grenache,andnbsp;15% Cinsault and 5% Carignanandnbsp;and is aged in old foudres. It carries all of its muscle and meatiness with an uncanny grace. There is a fine mineral backbone that lends freshess to this delicious wine and its especially fine tannins will provide just the right amount of structure to allow it to develop well over the medium term. Itand#39;s also a great value for a wine with such obviously high quality.andnbsp;

Inky, dark and deep - generous black currant flavors mingle with garrigue and red clay. Judicious use of French oak harnesses robust tannins and a hint of the darkest possible expression of strawberry on the long finish. Made for duck and potatoes. Meet ze new monstre.
