Domaine de Fontsainte produces a lovely example of Vin Gris, a slightly richer style of rosandeacute; than is typically made in Provence.andnbsp; The wine is still dry but has a touch more body allowing it to stand up to all sorts of food.andnbsp; The estate is located in Corbieres in the Languedoc-Roussillon just a few miles from the sea. All of the vineyards are farmed sustainably.

Begins with an inviting nose of pear & a toasty creaminess. The pallate is crisp, refreshing and has backbone of minerality. Intial flavors of lemon zest & curb move into creme fraiche, and flint on a surprisingly long finish for a rosé. Paired quite well with dry rub chicken wings! [11/10/20]

It is Sunday evening and I have opened the 2019 Domaine de Fontsainte Corbières Gris de Gris Rosè. This wine is a blend of 90% Grenache Gris, 5% Carignan and 5% Mourvèdre. On the nose there is strawberry, melon, cherry, citrus zest, orange blossom, honey and minerality. The palate has notes of strawberry, cherry, tart peach, citrus notes, a good saline and minerality. This wine is light to medium bodied that is very well balanced with medium + acidity that leads to a long fresh crisp finish. A beautiful rosè from the Languedoc.
