Domaine Comte Abbatucci Monte Bianco Sciacarello 2015

Jean-Charles Abbatucci is a biodynamic acolyte on the western coast of Corsica near the capital, Ajaccio, whose vineyard work is as meticulous as anyone in France. Monte Bianco is 100% Sciaccarellu, a native grape to the island, all planted on granite. It's especially high-toned on the nose, with red fruits and delicate garrigue spice. On the palate it manages to be both impressively concentrated and incredibly light on its feet, with sleek structure, bright acids and exceptional focus. This is comfortably one of the top wines being made on the island and will hold its own on the table next to any of the great wines of southern France.
