Fouded in 2010 by Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe, Division was inspired by the duoand#39;s training in France andndash; in the Loire, Burgundy and Rhandocirc;ne Valley. The idea was to create wines of personality and purity, without manipulation, much like their mentors in France. In 2011, the team was introduced to the owners of Methven Family Vineyards, growers of fantastic Oregon Gamay. The grapes for this cuvandeacute;e are separated into two lots: one (two-thirds of the total harvest) fermented after complete de-stemming - a la Burgundy - and the other fermented in Beaujolais-style, carbonic maceration in a closed tank. Even in 2015, an extremely warm year by Oregon standards, this wine stands out for its balance, fruit and herbal aromatics.
