Division Winemaking Company Les Petits Fers Division Villages Gamay Noir 2017

$25.99

Don't let the Oregon AVA moniker fool you, this wine has real pedigree. Most of the fruit is from 3 vineyards in the Eola-Amity hills, a cooler part of the Willamette valley with ancient volcanic and marine sedimentary soils. The balance is from vineyards in the Dundee Hills and Umpqua AVAs. All have cool coastal air at night to keep the acids in check and preserve freshness. True to Beaujolais style, most the wine was done in a carbonic maceration method with only a portion of the grapes going through traditional red fermentation. With such vibrant, quaffable fruit, this wine provides lots of pleasure now andndash; just pop and pour.

Solid effort for Oregon. Not a huge fan JD Division’s other stuff but this one is solid.
