Division Winemaking Company L'Avoiron Columbia Valley Rosé of Gamay Noir 2017

$19.98

Sourced from a block of Gamay at Willard Farm in the Yakima Valley. The mineral rich soil is a hodgepodge of quartz and lime silica mixed with volcanic uplift and some glacial runoff on top. They were looking for more acid-driven white wine style vibrancy than intensity, so the grapes were picked on the early side. Expect tons of fresh, high-toned wild strawberry and watermelon fruit here with a dry finish.andnbsp;

Nose is funky like Humpty Hump from Digital Underground. Stone fruit, cherry, rhubarb (?) on a rosé that’s smoother than the first whiff leads to believe. Good value buy. From Lou Wine Shop

The aroma gives off hints of tart cherry and citrus suggesting a very punchy Rose. The first sip will prove all of that wrong with a bright, crisp body that has is amazingly balanced. Enough of the fruit and citrus make an appearance on the pallet to sweeten the body but this is a Rose that remains dry and expertly crafted.
