Division Winemaking Company Division Villages Béton Oregon Red Blend 2016

$24.99

A unique blend of Loire Valley inspiration, Bandeacute;ton combines 60% Cabernet Franc with 30% Gamay Noir and 10% Candocirc;t (known as andquot;Loire Malbecandquot;). The Cabernet Franc originates from Applegate Valley AVA in Southern Oregon, as well as Quady North Vineyard Serra Vineyards, the latter of these also providing the Candocirc;t. Gamay comes from Rebeccaand#39;s Vineyard in northern Umpqua of the Willamette, a vineyard planted over 30 years ago. The components were all individually fermented with native yeasts; the Serra Cabernet Franc is done in the closed-tank, carbonic maceration method. Long fermentations were followed with over 25 days of maceration of the skins. 2016 was a reprieve from two consecutive hot vintages, and the Bandeacute;ton benefits in having a more mineral-driven core, with tart red fruits, black tea and anise scents to complement the refreshing finish.

2016 vintage. Very pretty floral aromatics, elegant tannins, lively acidity. Red plum, cranberry, black raspberry, hibiscus, rose petals, little spruce greenness, autumn leaves. Has a lot going on and super cool blend for Oregon 60 Cabernet Franc, 30 Gamay, 10 Côt (aka Malbec).

Beautiful acidity with great orange/grapefruit peal on the palate. Cru Beaujolais-like.

Outstanding Oregon wine. This coming from a Pinot hater :) The French influence is obvious, thank god for the fanatical grape blending used to achieve this clean & bright excitement. This juice will match a range of palates & dinners- it's both easy drinking & complex.
