This is 100% Garnacha from Vinos de Madrid, an appellation within the Sierra del Gredos mountain range outside of Madrid, Spain.andnbsp; This is rugged, isolated territory, with many vineyards at 1500-3000 ft. above sea level on sandy granite soils. Famed local winemaker Dani Landi is revitalizing this co-op that has been around since the 1950's by supporting local growers in an economically viable way and thereby preserving the old vineyards that would have otherwise been uprooted to make way for real estate development. These are transparent wines unmarked by oak- delicious juice good with a slight chill.
