Colombera & Garella Lessona Pizzaguerra Nebbiolo Blend 2014

Cristianoandnbsp;Garella, formerly of the famedandnbsp;Tenutaandnbsp;Sella, his friend Giacomoandnbsp;Colombera, and Giacomo's father, Carlo, are turning out some of the most exciting wines we've tried fromandnbsp;Northern Piedmont. This is a diverse and special region where talented hands and motivated young producersandnbsp;have begun to unlock the potential of some fascinating and historicandnbsp;terroir.andnbsp;Theandnbsp;Colomberaandnbsp;andamp;andnbsp;Garellaandnbsp;wines are impressive in their own right, but are especially attractive given the extreme quality that they display at such modest prices. This is 95% Nebbiolo and 5% Vespolina andnbsp;from 1ha of fairly youngandnbsp;vines on sandy soils. This wine is broad and especially expressive, showing all the intoxicating perfumeandnbsp;of top Northern Piedmont Nebbiolo. The wine shows some sneaky structure butandnbsp;it finishes with great length and freshness.
