Colombera & Garella Cascina Cottionano Bramaterra Nebbiolo Blend 2014

Cristiano Garella, formerly of the famedandnbsp;Tenuta Sella, his friend Giacomo Colombera, and Giacomo's father, Carlo, are turning out some of the most exciting wines we've tried fromandnbsp;Northern Piedmont. This is a diverse and special region where talented hands and motivated young producersandnbsp;have begun to unlock the potential of some fascinating and historic terroir. The Colombera andamp; Garella wines are impressive in their own right, but are especially attractive given the extreme quality that they display at such modest prices. This is 65% Nebbiolo, 20% Croatina andandnbsp;15% Vespolinaandnbsp;from 2ha of 60+ year old vines on rocky, clay soils. Dark fruits, earthy, meaty wine with a firm tannicandnbsp;grip that will allow this to age gracefully. Perfect on the table with braised meats and game.
