Wonderful wine. A little bracing when first opened, but much smoother after that. Deep berry, smoky flavors, tart, very full-bodied. I usually prefer cab-heavy Bordeaux wines, but this was great.

More tannins than I would expect but interesting all around. Smoky licorice nose. Medium body. Strangely less fruit for an 80% Merlot unless you pair with cheese to kick the tannins down a bit, but the other notes comes through subtly. Super boozy

One of the few 2010 Bordeaux’s that is definitely ready to drink now. Big fruit with blackberry and currant leading the way. The structure is just about right at the moment. Not very Bordeaux, but fun.

Black licorice, graphite, and cigar smoke on the nose. Solid tannin structure, decent balance, but left me searching a bit for the fruit on the palate.

Beautiful black plum color, musk rose and rich earth, leather, and hint of caramelized wood. Tannins that need decanting.
