100% Cabernet Franc from Saumur Champigny in the Loire Valley. Chateau Yvonne is one of the most promising rising stars in the appellation, and this wine is a perfect introduction to their style. '15 was an especially solar vintage in the Loire, so this version has more weight and intensity than you'd normally associate with an entry level Cab Franc. The wine shows velvety tannins, a classic peppery note and mouth watering acidity that brings you back quickly for the second glass.andnbsp;

Super juicy and fresh Saumur-Champigny. Fermentation and elevage in concrete tank. Concentrated nose of ripe blackberry and raspberry, tobacco leaf, graphite and pencil shavings, fresh violets, an almost bloody savory character, and slightly roasted red bell pepper. On the palate it's softly textured and echoes the nose with a bit of extra graphite mineral intensity. Medium (+) acid, medium (-) to medium body, medium to medium (+) intensity of tannins with a pleasant, fine-grained grip. Nice, quenching Loire Cab Franc that would be great with most anything coming off your grill this summer. Takes well to a slight chill also.
