A good value wine from a beautiful region full of heavyweights. Purchased from a nice merchant who also happens to work for La Gaffeliere and gave a fantastic private tour. Sadly, 2010 will be the last vintage as Haut Brion purchased and changed the name to Chateau Quintus. Nose is youthful, a bit hot at first with faint wet limestone, cassis and cherry. On the palette, youthful and fighting to stay that way. Fruit comes almost mid palate but is overwhelmed by tannin. The acidity helps tone them down relatively quickly. I look forward to revisiting this in 2-3 years!

Big bold Bordeaux. 2009 vintage. Cab and floral notes on the nose. Love tannins - this is it. Haven not seen this vineyard offered stateside. Going to bring some home!
