The 2000 vintage is a bit controversial , some say it is a great vintage other find it disappointing given the hype of the vintage being a millennium vintage. Sociando mallet is usually a great value wine and I loved 2003 and 2005, this is my first 2000, and it is still young and kicking. Deep red, nose full of green peppers, pencil shaving, a touch of barnyard, black currents and spicy wood, medium to full body with dry tannins and great acidity, long spicy peppery finish. My score 89, drink to 2022

Vintage 2000 / perfumed, lovely smell, great balance and a aftertaste that lasts for minutes, great effort!

Classic green notes in a good way. Tannins resolved.

A tad greener than I expected given the vintage. But that's not necessarily a knock! There's a great deal of freshness here and a very classic appeal.

The best mature Sociando I've had. A bit savage on the nose upon opening, which hinted at Brett, but subsided into one of the most ravishing noses in a long while. Fruit, leather, spice, an evolved herbal note - all interlace into great complexity. Still powerful on the palate, solidly built, the tannins still massive but refined and balanced by fruit and extract. This has now reached its apogee, but will stay there for quite a while.

#SociandoMallet 2000 developed, w/ black fruit still present. Very nice acidity for the vintage. Showing very well right now!

2000 vintage, opened several days and kept fresh with vinlock or whatever it's called. Beautiful! Classic Bordeaux profile of black fruit, pencil lead, damp basement and dried herbs.

Good length, bright fruit with cigar box smokiness. A tad overpriced but excellent with beef.

Didn’t think I was going to like this when I smelt it. Proper earthy with a strong smell of tobacco, like cigarette butts in an ashtray mixed with wet earth. But absolutely lovely in the mouth. So easy to drink. Bit more of a punch than The Grange

Worth the wait. Bordeaux heaven. Thankfully no green notes in my bottles.
