The 2009 still needs a few years to develop and expand flavor profile. Slightly medicinal notes of fennel, licorice, cassis and leather are dominant. But the silken texture is very appealing with rounded and refined tannin in the mid palate. Pleasure to drink, just a bit closed down and yet to reveal full spectrum of fruit.

the child of Pichon, concentrated, ripe and with very good power and intensity, black currant, sweet red cherries and black raspberry, evolving into secondary characteristics of forest floor, herbs and hints of minerality. The finish is quite long and lingering.

California-sunshine-juicy-fruit. Not much structure. A lot of pleasure for many.

2009 vintage which was a pleasant change of pace wine for Christmas dinner. For a Bordeaux with almost 10 yrs, I knew it wouldn’t be huge but I expected a bit more body. The cool part is the nice acidity to tannins ratio that embarks notes of earth, mushrooms and chestnuts wrap it in cassis and black cherry. Overall a winner, very drinkable, just expect a much lighter somewhat drier wine.
