This is a Mourvedre based blend from an extremely historic region in southern France. Pic St. Loup is one of the smallest appellations in the region, with wines that show a more graceful, mineral character than you might expect from an area this far south. The vines that produce this wine are more than 50 years old and grown on especially rocky soils. It's a complex, complete wine that we can't recommend (or drink) often enough.

Inky deep garnet color. Great "sauvage" aromas of garrigue, plum, blackberry and herbs. Well-balanced acidity on the palate, very clean with moderate tannins and a tight finish. Gamy and appealing

My first experience with Mourvèdre! This is an enjoyable bottle at a moderate price point. Love the inky dark color and it has a satisfying finish.

Oh, Mourvèdre, from an amazing place. fleshy fistfuls of ripe black-red juice and wild herbs, cleanly contained by chalk. Seamless tannin. Impeccable, balanced, substantial. Yes!

Aging gracefully. Gain some intensity in mid-palate, and great aromatics. In another 65 weeks?

Smooth fruitiness but not too much with a little of a lite finish
