Another 2005. Magnum kept the oxygen in check, but reveals it still quite young. Magnolia in a warm breeze. Cherry blossom. Pine, chainsaw heated. Coffee rye. Violets, both fresh and dry, on this floral led bouquet. Rich blackberry in a medium-verging-heavy mouthfeel rich black currant, ripe cassis, sloes, rosemary, sweet mocha tobacco, black cherry and smoke. Relentlessly rich. #chateaduhartmilon #domainesbaronsderothschildlafite #duhartmilon #2005bordeaux #bordeaux #pauillac #grandcruclassé #1855 #bordeauxrouge #misenbouteilleauchateau #lafite #leftbankbordeaux #leftbank

Wow. 2005 is amazing now... right out of the bottle. Wow. Can still taste the memory.

Good but was overshadowed by everything else we had that evening.

This, along with an '85 d'Estournel, was the star in a brilliant lineup. Powerful, rich, but with an earthy elegant balance. Perfectly built

A great representation of #leftbank #bordeaux from a ripe vintage. The core was deep ruby fading out to crimson with nice concentration. The nose was powerful and very complex showing ripe black and red fruit, and secondary notes. The palate was well structured and still very tight not showing nearly as much as the nose. The finish was long but dominated by smoke. Lots of time to go. #duhartmilon #pauillac #ctbucklinwine

Lacked the concentration and excitement that I that a 2005 might have. #bordeaux #pauillac #duhartmilon #2005

Un nez sur du fruit éclatant, une bouche fraîche et en finesse, petit accroc une finale courte qui tombe rapidement. 90-91 Beautiful nose, gorgeous even with finesse and freshness on the palate but it falls short in the end, litterally drops on the finish.

Heady: leather, roasted meat, ox blood, crushed stones. Very long in the palate. Really an exceptional year for Duhart.
