Another 2000 disappointment, I haven’t tasted a single one that I really like. It has the change of the century going for it but that is about all. The wines lack backbone.

From mag. Gorgeously settled. A fresh plum, herbal and iron flecked palate. Supple and long. Classic bordeaux.

By far the best showing I’ve seen from this 2000. Astonishing purity of fruit, compelling aromatics and a long, full, silky finish. Graphite, violet, rich plum tobacco. Just loved every single thing about it.

I’m a sucker for Ducru. LKG’s Birthday - sometimes we drink Bordeaux.

A fantastic showing and layered complexity from this excellent vintage, just entering the beginning of its ideal drinking window. Rich blackberry and currants, cedar, leather and hints of cocoa and dried herbs with a palate coating texture. The finish is long and concentrated. Just going to get better.

Awesome. Disgracefully strong showing, which is overshadowed by the Napa penis extensions. This is a model of old-world restraint and subtlety. Notes of tobacco, spice-box and earth. Secondary olive notes. Beautiful tannins with perfect acidity. Very intellectual. Exceptional gift from @Mo Salem. Thanks my friend.

Crimson with a tawny edge. An initial woody mushroom note from the Decanter. Aromas of Cedar chest of drawers and Dust with integrated savoury Plum. The nose and palate show a total balance of fruit, oak and tannin which just says gorgeous mature claret. An intoxicating perfume even after over an hour in the Decanter reflecting the excellent 2000 vintage. Silky. One of those totally balanced Bordeaux where descriptors are superfluous. A leathery note after a few hours. Loved this Ducru.
