Delayed attack of raspberry and clove. The finest tannin coats the mouth. Yum.

Meaningfully better than this was nearly 2 years ago when I had it last. Gave it 4 hours open in the bottle before a 1.5 hour decant. Paired with burgers on the grill. Pretty classic left bank, more refined and slightly “lighter” than many. Great acid on the finish, and a nice density overall. Def one to drink up but can’t complain.

I know that 2012 wasn’t a perfect year but this still underperformed. Have a lot of nostalgia for D’Issan after Emmanuel Cruse (the proprietor) oversaw the Bordeaux tasting competition where my wife and I met. Very little fruit on the mid palate. Bit thin on the finish. Definitely left bank - the nose is very nice. Good pairing with beef tenderloin slow roasted but still a smidge below what I hoped.

Not the best vintage of d’Issan, but really good nevertheless. Very enticing nose of flowers and dark fruits, so Margaux. The mouth follows. Its a really classical claret with good acidity and works great with food. Its really good.

We had the 2012 Vintage on 3/5/22. The same night we had the 2005 Vintage. The 2012 was a weaker vintage. This wine shows that. Darker in color. Dark fruit and green tones. Just not a good wine.

Thick and chewy, almost needs food to moderate it’s power. Full-bodied and robust.

2012...Too young...Needs another 4-5 for oak to intergrate. Hope to get another and hold...Really good for the vintage though...
