Fresh dark fruit laced with under the horses hoof earth and straw... Lovely wine.

The 2008 Issan I showing all of its refined, Bordeaux splendor. It’s dark, plummy and cherry notes, with wet slate and some leather have reached their full maturity and I can’t see them getting a better. I’d say the 2008 has another 5-6 years at this level before it will start to fade a bit.

Starts with stewed plum, cherries, ox blood, and wet slate. Eventually develops more chewiness of dried currants and leather. So much structure and restraint in every sip. Pairs beautifully with osso bucco and a lot of other things I’m sure.
