Really lovely wine. Typical of the vintage. Rich, silky and integrated.

Posting too late to give a good note but it was gorgeous.

I have had other bottles of this vintage of Chateau D'Issan that were superior. This particular bottle was weak and thin on the palate and nose This bottle showed nothing of the greatness of the 2005 vintage. It showed nothing of the depth of flavors I would expect. Hopefully an aberration.

Starts with stewed plum, cherries, ox blood, and wet slate. Eventually develops more chewiness of dried currants and leather. So much structure and restraint in every sip. Pairs beautifully with osso bucco and a lot of other things I’m sure.

Black cherries, violets, currants, charcoal and bay leaf. Very pretty.

Decant for 1/2 an hour and drink over the next hour. Otherwise, it simply fades away into rose infused perfumed water. I've no idea what's going on. (Perhaps don't even decant!)
