Cornalin is a cross between two varieties native to Valle d'Aosta (Petit Rouge and Mayolet) likely introduced to the Valais via the Great St. Bernard Pass. It was rescued from extinction in the '70's and has become a signature of the Valais today. The unique exposition of the historical 'Les Bernunes' vineyard in the Valais allows for optimal ripening of this sometimes fickle grape. Vivacious and exuberant with finely etched tannins.
