Catherine and Pierre Breton are among our most treasured sources for Cabernet Franc, full stop. In addition to making some of most compelling wines in the region, andnbsp;the husband andamp; wife duo also helped bring natural farming practices to the forefront of the international viticultural community. All their grapes are grown biodynamically, from their parcels in Bourgeuil to Chinon to Vouvray. Beaumont comes from vines planted on clay andamp; limestone, on the banks of the Vienne River.andnbsp; The nose onandnbsp;is brimming with red fruit and roses, while the palate is defined by blackberries, earth, and cleansing acidity. Try the Beaumont with a more savory cut of steak, like skirt steak, or even just a bowl of green olives alongside. A singular, honest wine that is a perfect example of why we so value this property.

Really feel like I don’t drink enough cab franc, especially from Chinon. This is quite nice though certainly still a touch “rustic” with some slight funkier notes on the finish. Not overwhelming in terms of green pepper but you definitely know it’s cab franc. Only 12% alcohol, and in general sort of aggressively restrained. Enjoyed.

The OGs of Chinon, finally an elegant cab franc that doesn’t smack me in the face with those pesty overbearing pyrazines @Ted Corvey - amazing what can happen when fruit isn’t picked over-ripe, overextracted, and then bathed in new oak.

Dark fruit with earthy, forest floor notes and peppery spices, with a depth that goes beyond the fruit. Snappy, fleshy, and extremely fresh and zesty. Remarkably approachable stuff.
