Cantine Garrone is a tiny winery in the Ossola Valley, the northernmost appellation in Piedmont and a mere 7 miles from the Swiss Border. Recently awarded DOC status, they are known for their local clone of Nebbiolo, called Prunent, believed to be the parent of the Nebbiolo grown elsewhere in Piedmont. This is Nebbiolo with 15-20% Croatina from vines averaging 40+ years old on south-facing slopes.
