Bow andamp; Arrow Wines is one of the many wineries that have established themselves in downtown Portland, just to the north of the Williamette Valley. Scott and Dana Frank drew inspiration from the Loire Valley and mostly work with the varieties found there like Cabernet Franc and Melon de Bourgogne. As part of a deal to get access to a vineyard of Gamay they took control of Hughes Hollow, a Pinot Noir vineyard that was planted on its own roots facing directly north. This is one of our favorite Pinots from the state, allowing ripe flavors to come through at very low alcohol. Black cherry and slight hints of baking spice dominate over a faint red floral tone with just a touch of earth. All elegance and poise and a signature Oregon Pinot.
