Deep purple with medium intensity, developing aromas of grilled meat, smoke, blackberry, black pepper, mint, tar and forest floor. Dry, medium (+) acidity, medium tannins, medium (+) body, medium alcohol (13.5%). Well-integrated flavors of blackberry, black plum, tar, mint, forest floor, black olive. Medium (+) finish. Very good quality - drink now but has potential for aging. Very approachable.

Wow. Super wow. What a nose. Stunning. Haunting. Elegant. Ethereal. Pungent. Floral. Game. Feral. Meaty. Amazing precision. Just ridiculous. How can a wine this great be only $60! Côte Rotie is such a value. Wow. Palate is stacked like the best 15’s can be. So juicy and structured. What poise, precision and balance. Some wood peeking out but that is expected of young Burgaud. Stunning depth, focus and purity. What finesse. It’s big, it’s rich but it’s also elegant, light and finesse driven, with a stunning, drop you in your tracks granite finish. Wow. Echoes on the palate forever. Just keeps giving more and more. Huge depth, power and concentration but comes off as so refined and pretty. Wow. Just achingly beautiful. What a wine.

Pop and pour yesterday, at which point it was absolutely stunning. Notes from 24 hrs open. On the nose: soft cola, olive brine, wet stone, a touch of game, cool sandalwood. Absolutely spectacular aromatics. On the palate: fantastic acidity, tomato leaf, olive, black raspberry, lovely density with very finely grained tannin on the juicy finish. This is spectacular.

On open nose is closed. Maybe some lilacs. As this opens some light integrated Brett. Palate is lightly fruited. As this opens a bit better. Precise cherry fruit. A hint of bitterness. Elegant. Some crushed lilacs. Which are quite cool. As this opens this sweet silky thing.

Nose is lilacs. A hint of integrated Brett. Maybe some blackberries Palate is soft blackberry fruit. Some spice. Very good. Nicely fresh. Delicious. Not super complex or this would be higher.

Nose is wonderful. Deep, sensual Lilacs. Violets. Blackberries. Cherries. A hint of unground black pepper. A mere hint of game. As this opens you get this psychotic swirl. Palate is slightly spicy late early season cherries. Super vibrant. A very Burgundian feel. Just that balance. The mouthfeel. Deliciously drinkable. Silky tanins. As this opens the cherries are more perfect mid season. Bought from fass selections
