Bernard Burgaud Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2014 (1500ml)

$124.99

Bernard Burgaud is a classic producer who has been upholding the old traditions of Cote-Rotie since he took over for his father in the early 80and#39;s. His wines always impress with their lift and elegance. Though they can be surprisingly approachable in their youth, they'll really express their true colors with 5-10+ years in the cellar. This is a seamlessly constructed example from Burgaud, and though the wine certainly shows plenty of the wild, animal side of Syrah, it is almost impossibly fine. A beacon of finesse from one of our most trusted sources in the area.andnbsp;

So f%#@ing elegant and complex. It has all the hallmarks of Cote Rotie but with an ethereal elegance. An early drinker that may provide maybe 10 years enjoyment.

This is gorgeous. Beautifully floral with aromas of smoke, olives, and blue fruit. I can't remember if I've ever had a Cote Rotie this elegant and refined. The winemaker studied and made wine in Burgundy and that shows here.

My new standard for Syrah. Blue fruit, olives, gaminess and beautiful acidity. So so good
