Benanti is now synonymous with Mount Etna and stands out as one of the first and finest producers to start making world class wines on the slopes of the volcano.andnbsp; Pietra Marina, made from the indigenous grape Carricante, is regarded as one of Italy's greatest white wines, something we could not agree with more. It performs exceedingly well in the cellar, really shining with 5 andndash; 10 years of age from the vintage. The name of this cuvandeacute;e has always been meant to invoke the dual natural of great Etna Biancos, influenced by the mountain (Pietra) and the sea (Marina) simultaneously. Ripe fruit is impeccably balanced against saline minerality and a citrusy cut.andnbsp; With time open, herbal notes of thyme and sage will emerge without the loss of fresh fruit or focus.

100% Carricante. Fermented in stainless steel. Lemony , lively, good acid. Hard to resist.

Outstanding wine. Minerally and saline. Excellent seafood wine. Not cheap, but shows what Carricante can do on the east slopes of Mt. Etna!!

The azor ahai of white wines, born from salt and smoke, wakes dragons from stone. No flaming sword but the tart lemon rind notes work in a pinch. Valar dohaeris

Dry. Floral and fruity. Needs some alcohol to blow off and then it was great

Extremely balanced and fruity Solid acidity and good floral and fruit that really helped offset salmon Milanese. What I really love about this wine is how it provides depth and freshness with great drinkability. No real oak. No butter. No crazy guava or tropical nonsense.
