Lovely. All the Nebbiolo class with more freshness. Perfume.

Not quite as good as the '01, but still a fantastic wine for the price.

Light red, not as much brick hue as expected. Leathery, slight clove. Very leathery but it doesn't take like bad Brett. Dark fruit and plum, blackberry. Cassis. Sawdust? Ethyl acetate. Tannins are light, vanilla flavor. Bit of barnyard. Straw and musty. Thin body. Bramble note. Astringency is light but present. Acidity well balanced.

A truly unique take on Nebbiolo. Still shows the floral & red berry aromatics, but somewhat lighter bodied than typical Piedmont Neb. More acidic in structure than a tannic beast and showing bright fresh red fruit to spare. Thoroughly enjoyed this on a warm evening.

Smelled like asphalt and crushed flowers, great balance across palate, incredibly clean tannin, some earth but floral, wow!

Maybe a dud bottle (or drinker) but "thin" rather than "elegant" and "needs food" rather than "food wine". Needed decanting to blow off on opening, and was completely expired after 24 hours. Bit of a disappointment.
