Il Censo is a farm with well over 200 years of history in the southern part of central Sicily. Gaetano Gargano is a longtime friend of Giampiero Bea (of Paolo Bea) and has adopted his non-interventionist approach to wine making.andnbsp; Provvido is made entirely from Nero d'Avola grown at 650 meters, lending the wine considerable freshness. Rich blackberries, licorice, mint and subtle spice tones jump out on the nose with supple texture and richness on the palate.andnbsp; Fine tannins and restrained alcohol bring together this delicious Nero d'Avola.

First time drinking this wine; a relatively new (old) project in Sicily with guidance from Giampiero Bea. This is a brand new release and tasting like it. Extremely primary right now; all fresh blackberries and raspberries. Almost has a carbonic quality to it. The tannin monster starts to show up after about an hour of air. Curious how these will age...but probably best to drink in the relative new term? Really delightful and a hit with HRH. It was also a killer combo with roasted chicken and polenta.

Who doesn’t judge a book by its cover? The faux Olivetti typewriter font crowding the label screamed Bea and our aesthetic judgment was correct. The acolytes have done the master proud, this is wild: great tannins, a big blueberry note, pepper, leather, fennel, fabulous nose. Really in a great spot right now after 2 hr decant.
