Vigna Elena is truly a unique Barolo, the only wine in the region made entirely with Nebbiolo Rosandeacute;, a distinct variety that is lighter in color with more pronounced perfume and a heady spice tone on the nose. This is a cuvandeacute;e that conveys all the elegance and purity Nebbiolo Rosandeacute; is capable of. Pure cherry fruit, flared orange peel and roses dominate on the nose along with subtle hints of nutmeg and red licorice. It's obviously still a very young on the palate, with grippy tannins, but it has a weightless intensity with piercing minerality on the finish.andnbsp; This should benefit greatly with a few years in the cellar, but itand#39;s already roaring and ready to go with a brief decant. Elvio Cogno's wines have always been staunchly traditional since he founded the winery in 1990, and his ideals are now carried on by his son-in-law, Valter Fissore. The farm has been certified organic since 2009.
