Azienda Agricola 499 was founded in 2012 by Mario Andrion and Gabriele Saffirio.andnbsp; Since the year 2000 Mario has been the principal wine maker at Castello di Verduno, a well-respected estate producing traditionally made wines from prime sites in Barolo and Barbaresco. Az Agr. 499 on the other hand is a rare estate that is primarily focused on producing Freisa rather than the more well-known varieties of the Langhe. This is their entry level offering and it is a beautiful example of the grape in an easy-going style. Wild strawberry and red floral notes pop on the nose with just a hint of spice.andnbsp; The palate is juicy with just a touch of tannin and bright acidity.andnbsp; Extremely easy to drink on its own, this would go wonderfully with salumi, grilled meats, roasted veggies, or summer salads. Fermented in Stainless steel with native yeast and aged in steel tanks for 14 months.
