After his own family's vineyards were sold off following his grandfather's passing, Filippo had the fortune of acquiring 2+ha of old vines to revive his family's legacy and establish his own estate.andnbsp;These low yielding vineyards include the prized Calderara Sottana and other parcels around 2000 + ft above sea level on the northern slopes of Mt. Etna. andnbsp;Everything here is done by hand, and with all of the hard work in the vineyard, Filippo just needs to 'respect the grape.' This cuvee is 90% Nerello Mascalese 10% Capuccio. Native yeast fermentation in open vats and aged in cherry wood and oak barrels for 14 months. Look for elegance, fragrance and freshness.
