Antoine Arena has become a treasured source for some of the most soulful, singular wines made on the island today, and his rosandeacute; fits seamlessly into his stable of exceptional bottles. The Patrimonio appellation sits in the northern part of the island and is dominated by limestone soils. For all their expressive fruit and evocative savory aromatics, Arena's wines always show the influence of their rocky soils in their sleek mineral backbone. The family only produces this rosandeacute; (100% Niellucciu, a local variety of Sangiovese) in certain vintages, and only in tiny quantities when they do. They also hold back the wine for an additional year before release. This is plenty refreshing, but it is no porch-pounder. It's a contemplative, heady specimen, with subtle red fruits and a lengthy finish that shows its spicy, honeyed side. This is irresistible juice that calls for a perfectly roasted chicken or a salty seafood dish. We only wish we had more to offer! andnbsp;

Salty, crunchy, blood orange, and lemon citrus, mineral inflected attack that fans out to salt and fruit in the finish. Not for everyone but a nice change from your typical rose.

A touch of VA really makes this feel lively and intense. Salty strawberry and watermelon cocktail. Brings me back to our honeymoon, where we ate a ton of wood fired pizza and drank Patrimonio wine en masse.
