Antoine Arena Carco Patrimonio Nielluccio 2012

$49.99

Antoine Arena is widely recognized as the godfather of the new generation of Corsican vignerons, a remarkable character who continues to turn out some of the most renowned bottles of the island. Arenaand#39;s Carco Rouge is a nobleandnbsp;beast of a wine, in the best possible way. Itandnbsp;comes from 30 year vines of Niellucciuandnbsp;planted lower in the Carco vineyard. The wine pairs its gamy, earthy qualities with dark cherry fruits and just the right amount of funk. Tannins are present but velvety. Itand#39;s drinking wonderfully today with a quick decant.

Nice summer wine. Bright with tannins in balance. Great with the grilled meats

Very nice, though not sure about the value at $50 retail. Bright red fruit with good acid and a smooth integrated finish; good earth. Definitely an interesting Corsican bottle.
