Monica is one of the more obscure grapes on the island of Sardinia, but it is also one of the most delightful in all of Italy. Alberto Loi's Monica is a classic example with tart red fruit tinged by wild Mediterranean herbs and flowers. Crisp and bright with very tame tannins, it is perfect with a chill as a match for meaty fish, veggies, andnbsp;white meat, or lamb prepared simply with herbs and garlic.
